Fraudulent E-Mail Warning

fraudulent-email-warning.JPG

The Salvation Army has learned that a number of individuals in the United States have received unauthorized and fraudulent e-mails, generally from a “gmail” address, that include the name and logos of The Salvation Army, sometimes in the French language. These e-mails claim to be from the “C.E.O” of The Salvation Army, identify a mailing address in France, and offer the “chance to be our representative” and earn money by retaining a percentage of donations made by private donors intended for The Salvation Army. They encourage the recipient to fill out an “Application Form” to be considered as a “Participant.”

THESE E-MAILS HAVE NOT BEEN SENT OR AUTHORIZED BY THE SALVATION ARMY AND WE URGE THE PUBLIC NOT TO RESPOND TO THESE SOLICITATIONS.

Camp Walter Johnson

The Summer Camp season began on Wednesday, June 11 with Jr. Soldiers (ages 7-12) and Girl Guards (grades 6-12) traveling to Camp Walter Johnson in Denton NC for a week of fun.  They attended Bible classes, swam in the pool, rode on paddle boats and canoes in the lake, took a ride on a pontoon boat on High Rock Lake, climbed on the ropes course, watched movies, and enjoyed making new friends as well as seeing friends from other Corps in the North & South Carolina Division.  Monday June 16th Senior Music Conservatory started.  This is a month-long program where select student work on their music and drama skills, while strengthening their relationship with the Lord.  The Boys Adventure Corps camp (grades 1-8) and Leadership Tract  (grades 9-12) will run from June 16-21.  Sunbeam Camp (grades 105) runs from June 23-28.  Youth Camp for ages 13 & up is from June 30 - July 5.  The Junior Music Conservatory (ages 8-11) is being held July 14-19.

The Boys & Girls Club members will have a chance to attend CWJ also.  Their schedule is Boys Club I (ages 6-9)-July 7-12, Girls Club I (ages 6-9)-July 14-19, Boys Club II (ages 10-12)-July 21-26, and Girls Club II (ages 10-12)-July 28-August 2.

We are looking forward to the lives of these children being changed forever as they attend these camps and grow in the Lord and have life changing experiences.  Please pray for these children.
